Create a Moving Inventory
By creating a moving inventory, you can keep track of all your possessions. You’ll want to make sure to state the type and number of individual items within a room. Then add a description. Then, when you move in, you’ll be able to find objects with ease.
Label your Boxes
Labelling your boxes will save you a lot of time. You can quickly sort through the boxes and put them in the correct rooms. You can label using color duct tape, markers, or stickers. Keep Valuable Items with you
You should also keep valuable items with your or at least in the car that you’re driving. These items include medical documents, passports, other important documents, and valuable items like jewelry. This way you know they won’t get lost if they stay with your (or at least near you).
Use Proper Packing Materials
Although you save money with getting free boxes, you should invest in new ones as well. You want your boxes to protect your items, so they shouldn’t have any major holes, rips or tears. Also make sure that you use the right packing materials on the right object. For example, you shouldn’t use shrink wrap directly on wood furniture because the moisture can build up.
